Opera

What is Opera? Depends on who you ask. It could either be the style of music that some people enjoy, or the Internet browser. In this article, I will focus on the browser. Opera is free on all computers, from Windows machines to Macs. Opera contains many of the same feature as a modern browser. In this article I will focus on it’s features, security and speed.

Google Chrome

Google Chrome is an Internet browser created by our search engine friend, Google. It contains many of the same features as other Internet browsers, and other features that are unique. I will review Google Chrome’s speed, features, appearance, and security. For those that want to try out Google Chrome, you can do so on Google, obviously.

Apple Safari browser

On the Apple’s Mac machines, it comes with an Internet browser, much like Internet Explorer on your Windows machines, which in this case it called Safari. It is much like all the other Internet browsers but is still different in some ways. In this article I will be reviewing Safari on my Windows Vista machine, it may not look as much like Safari on a Mac, but it will still function the same.

Internet Explorer 8

The default browser for Windows 7, which can be upgraded on Vista and Windows XP machines, is the most current recently updated Internet Explorer browser for the Microsoft Windows machines. This browser has almost all the modern features that a modern browser has, and includes many features that are similar to Firefox, Google Chrome and Safari. I will review this browser and test it’s speed, features, customization, and more.

Internet Explorer 7

Internet Explorer 7. The Internet browser that comes with Windows Vista by default but can be downloaded on Windows XP, 2000, and perhaps even 95/98. (skipped ME since no one seems to use it) This browser has now been updated to include the modern browser features, including tabbing, RSS bookmark feeds, and more. I will review this article on the fence, since I do not personally use Internet Explorer nor prefer it.

Internet Explorer 6

The default Internet browser on Windows machines has been one of the most used Internet Explorer browsers for the past many years ever since it came out. This has caused frustration on web designers who try to build websites that will work and function correctly on this browser, as well as those who don’t like Internet Explorer at all. IE 6, which I will use throughout this article, is very old. In fact, it’s over ten years old, which in Internet Browser years, means that you should upgrade by now.

Why is IE 6 the most used browser? It’s quite simple, honestly. Windows XP, which is the most used browser due to “problems” with Windows Vista. (More on that with Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Microsoft Windows articles) But because it is the most used Windows machine, that means that the Internet browser that comes with it by default, in this case IE 6, will be used the most. Because we know that the majority of people that buy a computer just want to access the Internet, play a few games, and check their emails. Nothing else. Thus they will use whatever browser that comes with their computer by default. In this case IE6. Now granted IE6 has been setup (after the release of IE 7 and IE 8) to display an upgrade page every once in a while, but not everyone is willing to do that.

Thus IE6, being currently the most used browser of IE, will be reviewed with as much of a neutral viewpoint as possible.

Mozilla Firefox

Mozilla Firefox, one of the most popular web browsers for Windows machines, Macintosh machines, and Linux machines. It has been praised for it’s security, speed, customization, features and even support. Many people appear to be switching to Firefox every day. And many came from the default Internet browser that comes with Microsoft, otherwise known as Internet Explorer.

In this review I will be looking at the features of Firefox, the speed, the customization, and the security features. We’ll see if I give it the same rates as other sites do. Since I personally use Firefox I will try my best to write this article and judge this browser as a neutral viewpoint. Meaning that I will start off on the fence and decide from there.

Released in 2007, Windows Vista has come updated with many new features, including a new user interface, a new sidebar with gadgets, Internet Explorer 7 and much more.
